چکیده

The purpose of this contract was to apply various mathematical techniques for speeding up electromagnetic simulation codes to present day commercial codes. The techniques to be investigated in the original contract were: wavelet methods, the non-uniform fast Fourier transform, and multipole methods. As the contract evolved, changes were made in two ways: first, the specific techniques investigated changed; second, the contract was modified to incorporate portions of another MAFET contract, which was part of the larger industrial consortium. That contract was terminated after its second year of funding due to budget constraints. As a result, this contract supported the remainder of that contracts work. Details are given as to the specific work performed, goals achieved, and future work to be carried out. 1 Summary of Work Performed The work carried out under this contract is broken out into three main sections: wavelet methods, improvement of matrix condition numbers, and fast package models. Eachof these is described in more detail in later sections. Brief summaries of the activities are now given.

EFFICIENT SIMULATION FOR OPTIMIZATION OF TOPOLOGY, SHAPE AND SIZE OF MODULAR TRUSS STRUCTURES

The prevalent strategy in the topology optimization phase is to select a subset of members existing in an excessively connected truss, called Ground Structure, such that the overall weight or cost is minimized. Although finding a good topology significantly reduces the overall cost, excessive growth of the size of topology space combined with existence of varied types of design variables challe...

Radiative heat transfer: many-body effects

Heat transfer by electromagnetic radiation is one of the common methods of energy transfer between objects. Using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, we have studied the effect of particle arrangement in the transmission of radiative heat in many-body systems. In order to show the effect of the structure morphology on the collective properties, the radiative heat transfer is studied and the re...

A Novel Intrusion Detection Systems based on Genetic Algorithms-suggested Features by the Means of Different Permutations of Labels’ Orders

Intrusion detection systems (IDS) by exploiting Machine learning techniques are able to diagnose attack traffics behaviors. Because of relatively large numbers of features in IDS standard benchmark dataset, like KDD CUP 99 and NSL_KDD, features selection methods play an important role. Optimization algorithms like Genetic algorithms (GA) are capable of finding near-optimum combination of the fe...

شبیه‌سازی ذره‌ای ناپایداری رامان پیش رو در پلاسمای کم چگال

Propagation of Electromagnetic wave in a plasma in the equilibrium state can cause instability. Investigating the situations in which this kind of instability occurs and grows is an important issue. In this paper, Raman instability in plasma is analyzed by particle simulation method. In terms of physical investigation, plasma is a very complicated environment and experimentally too expensive. ...
